Southampton’s Summer Series Main Event attracted 65 runners and paid most of a final table – the largest prize (£10,390) going to Christopher Webber(pictured) who became the dual final Summer Series Champion along with Sheffield winnerMichael Arnot.

Arnot might have taken the £7,820 first prize from the Main Event in Sheffield, but he was only slightly ahead of Garry Hallows for the weekend overall – Hallows cashed no fewer than 3 times – one of the best showings at the 2011 Summer Series. The £100 Bounty Booster finished Sheffield’s festival in style, attracting 109 runners and giving winner John Stokes a top prize of £2,455. Runner up Matthew Christopher had also won the first event (£200 freezeout) for a further £2,920.

These events bring the triple Summer Series to an end, as the GUKPT regular legs, having rested for a few months, warm up: Luton G Casino will host the next festival, running 14th-21st August. The £1,000 + £70 Main Event takes place from Friday 19th (two starting flights begin at 12pm and 6pm) until Sunday when the first GUKPT trophy of autumn will be awarded.
